Anyone mix Nikon & Canon flashes using Canon bodies?

I've heard that people use Nikon speedlights off camera with Canon because

they have a pc connection. Does anyone do this with success? I'd like to build

a kit with some Pocket Wizards and Nikon SB-28s if it works. (Because that

would be much more cost effective than buying 580EX AND Pocket Wizards.)

Using this setup, would it work to mix Canon strobes with the SB-28s on PWs? I

suppose you could sync any strobes as long as you're using PWs, couldn't you?

Thanks for your input,

JC

Well I've used my SB-30 a few times in manual and auto mode (has built-in sensor) and it

works fine. Not much reason to use a PC cord as it will trigger other Nikon units wirelessly. I

only tried because I have a FM3A and full kit of lenses and flash. Otherwise I prefer my ST-E2

and 430EX and 420EX for wireless 2 flash setups. PC cords are a drag as they always seem to

fcuk up things...

Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see.

Yes, Jared, it works well. I've triggered nikon speedlights both with their built-in slave mode

and with PW's from canon bodies with no problem. PW's don't use any of canon's proprietary

ETTL technology so it's strictly a manual-flash system. -B
