jason_ware
I'm passing through Kansai airport, Osaka and I'm hoping to pick up a K100D and perhaps another point and shoot for the Missis. I arrive late afternoon and fly out at lunch time the next day. Can anyone comment on duty-free prices at the airport or the logistics of getting into town? I've heard that Naniwa Camera is good but is it easy to get to and do they speak English?Cheers
bill a.
Not sure where you are located, but my experience so far traveling in Asia (from the US) is that the only place where I could get camera items less expensive than in the US has been Hong Kong. (for me, this includes Taiwan, Japan, and Korea). That includes duty free and just shopping around town. Maybe I missed the good stores.
robert x
Kansai airport is the coolest airport on the planet.
chepas_nigs
I find it more expensive to buy in duty-free shops specially in Japan. Kansai Airport is an island relatively far from the camera stores in Osaka City's electronics/camera shop district. If ever you manage to go to Osaka Station - Yodobashi Camera is just right outside of the north exit. You can get good deals there also. がんばって! jason_ware
Thanks for you replies folks. I understand that if I get the right train from Kansai I can be at Osaka station reasonably quickly.
chepas_nigs
It would be cheaper to take the bus to Osaka Station from the airport. The bus terminal is right under the train tracks of the Osaka Sta. facing Yodobashi camera. If you have more time, you can visit the electric city. Good luck!
