karl_graf
It's sterling silver, whatever it is. The Gimp is free from google. You can use that to resize photos.
stuart_richardson
It looks like it might be for cutting something. The film leader perhaps? I know the older Leicas required that.
paul_rybolt
I have one of those. I think I got it in Wetzlar at the Leica Schule back in 1986. What you have in your picture is one half of the keychain. The other half is just like it. they fit together in the slot and only come apart when the slots are precisely lined up. elmarfudd
They appear similar to the devices I use for the slotted coin opened battery doors.
ericd
Photoshop ! You Leica guys always think to expensive stuff ;-) Irfanview is free and can resize photos. Well Gimp is free too but using Gimp or Photoshop to resize picture is like killing flea with a bazooka !

david_nash
Alfred Dunhill, London (here) makes upmarket leathergoods, gifts, and jewellery for discerning gentleman - or something like that!
michael_b._elmer
The hallmarks say Sterling standard silver made in London 1979 by Alfred Dunhill, producer of usually smoker's accessories. I do not know the function, nor the reason that Leica was engraved on the object. It was certainly not cheap merchandise!
