mfpow
can someone tell me of any free downloadable, relatively easy to use plugins for correcting barrel distortion?thanks for any help.matt
richard_baer
I can speak for PSE v5 (Elements) that under Edit/Filters/Correct Camera Distortion, you can accomplish that relatively easily. Just move the slider or type in an amount, or degrees of tilt. Hope this helps.

steve_dunn2
I second the PTLens recommendation. On at least some version of Photoshop (not sure if your old version counts, but the PTLens documentation will say), it can automatically correct curvilinear distortion - it has a database of various lenses, and various focal lengths for zoom lenses, and will automatically apply the right amount of correction to your image based on the lens you used.

It can also fix lateral chromatic aberration and vignetting (but not automatically; you have to play with the controls to get it right) and can de-fish fisheye images.
robert_k1
PTLens is only free for ten images. There used to be a free lenscorrect floating around, but I can't locate it any more. It does a decent job.
ted_chambers
PTLens is not only a standalone, but its database has been incorporated into other software such as Breeze Browser. If your camera isn't covered, you can send images to the author and he'll add the data points for the camera to the database.
les
Picture Window. Not sure if it is still free, but it is not very expensive either, and very, very good to a point that it can 100% replace Photoshop (where photo processing is concerned).
