Most of the new fatures on the D2Xs are also available to the D2X via firmware upgrade to version 2.0. The ones that cannot be upgraded are the hardware changes, such as the gray-out of the area outside of the high-speed crop region when the camera is in that mode.

 

In other words, the actual difference is fairly small once you upgrade the D2X's firmware.
