forrest_andrew
Can someone please confirm if the Tamron AF 55-200mm Di II LD Macro is compatible with the Canon Digital Rebel Xti. In Bob Atkin's review he states that the lens "has an EF compatible lens mount" which makes me think that it is compatible. Just looking for a confirmation before i hit 'purchase'. Thanks, Andrew
phyrpowr
It will be compatible with the XTi, no matter it's designation. Some Tamrons are "crop only", but you don't have to worry.
rainer_t
Andrew, what Bob lilely meant when writing "has an EF compatible lens mount" is, that this lens will physically fit a camera with EF mount. The size of the imagecircle produced by this lens (as indicated by Tamrons DiII) is clearly too small for full-frame. So in real life you'll want to use this lens on crop 1.6 body's only ... which have EF-S mount in canon land ... don't forget that any EF-mount lens will physically fit an EFS-body. From what I hear from the compatibility of Tamron lenses with newer canon bodies, this lens will very likely work with the XTi. (It did with the 300D and the 350D/XT).
