douglas_vitello
My favorite series of Canon FD books "How to select & use Canon SLR Cameras" by Carl Shipman (published by HP Books)were instrumental in getting me hooked on the FD system way back in the late 70's.I always wondered why he quit writting books after he did the first and only one for the EOS 600 system.Did he see the handwritting on the wall - new cameras with one year lifespans? Is he still around? If not, many thanks to a truly great man.I still use his books to this day as my main reference manual when it comes to FD cameras and equipment.Fun to read and very accurate. User_502260
I have two of his books on Canon pre-EOS SLR cameras, with different dates. When I look around on eBay I still can't find some of the accessories which are shown in his books. These would include the set of long manual extension tubes. Rene11664880918
That is funny! Just yesterday I was looking for that book coz I forgot what was a little black button on my AE-1 Program. It was the battery check button. Back to the book, it is very good, I think it was the first camera book I ever bought back in 1981 or 82.
