peter_evans4
Cosina 20 (or 21?) 3.8, stopped down a bit. If the image is interesting, people won't care if it's a bit fuzzy
mawz
20 f3.5 is probably the cheapest good Nikkor wider than 24mm. The Tokina 17mm f3.5 ATX is also good, and relatively cheap.
jerry_sousa
The Vivitar 19mm, f3.8 gets my vote for a budget ultrawide.
pnance
It's not cheap and you need an F or F2, but you can't beat the Voigtlander 12mm. Sharp, rectilinear, bealtiful. I would post an image, but I would have to get it scanned first.
jwittenberg
Another vote for the 20mm f3.5 (52mm filter thread).
gman
I have a 20 f4 ai that I really like. I use it for landscapes and it was pretty cheap. Less than 150. I have a friend in Denver who has the 20 3.5 ai. He has nothing but good things to say about it so he would agree with the others here who like that lens. How are you going to use it? Landscapes? Architecture? Travel? You have some good choices! Wayne

jwcounts
I picked up an ARSAT 20mm for about $150. I've never tested the quality, but it works alright for me.
John Crowe
I had the Nikon 20mm f3.5 UD, non-AI that had been AI'd, and it was very good. Less distortion than my Nikon 14mm and very sharp.
michaelschrag
Michael, Go to this webiste - http://www.naturfotograf.com/index2.html - for reviews that are very good and KEH.com to buy used lenses. Bjorn covers 4 different 20mm lenses on the web cited above.
