brambor
In past editing game I let you guys play with a jpg. This time I'll give you RAW and jpg. I have this shot I like but for some reason I'm drawn to it with a strong color cast. You can download it here:
http://www.widereach.net/temp/_MG_1254.CR2

http://www.widereach.net/temp/_MG_1254.jpg
Show me the version that works best for you.
My versions are below:

robert_m_johnson
Rene, I didn't think that I could like your shot any more then I already did, but thumbs up to the colored version. The high pressure sodium street lights do have a weird golden glow that has to be reckoned with or embraced.

michael s.
Glad you reposted, Rene. Saw this on the other thread and meant to tell you: good feel on this photo. I like both versions. Big help, eh?
terry_rory
Lovely shot. I though of panorama....

stuart_richardson
Great image Rene. I prefer the first one..I really liked where you were going with the toning, so I went that route. Two versions: the first is very blue. It just worked for me. I liked the image a bit darker with more focus on the light and shadow. I intentionally blew out the highlights and blacked out the shadows. The second image is a tritone to get it more towards a platinum or palladium print.

subhash_tiwari
Would love to try my hand at some editing, but how does one open the CR2 version in Photoshop ? It seems to ask for Pixel height/weight etc. Thought I would avoid the JPG since each "save" would degrade the image ...

eugene_scherba
Not as poetic as the others -- just simple white balancing.

Daylight profile

Incandescent profile

christopher_a._junker1
Lovely original shot. Trevor's panorama is my favorite as the composition feels balanced.
eliot_rosen1
I like the first one best, the second one is just too red, though a sepia version might be nice. It could just be my computer screen, but I'd like to see a little more detail at the top of the building, which is too dark. But without lightening the rest of the picture, in which the lighting semms perfect for the mood.

eliot_rosen1
Saotome's version is close to what I had in mind.
eugene_scherba
Rene's first version and V S' seem the best so far, with Eric's tying in closely.
Tony Rowlett
I like the very first one (original) and Ned's above. I don't care much for any of the cropping; I like all that foreground. Some of the renditions are pretty interesting, though. Backups? We don’t need no stinking ba #.’ _ , J
