raymond_tai
Can anyone who has used the 90AA Summicron-R with the APO 2x tele converter comment on the performance? Thanks in advance.
paul_huang6
Hi Ray, Just tried mine. Works very well and at F4 its still bright enough to use a split screen. From the screen, the images looks sharp. Havent tried it on film yet though. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul
raymond_tai
Thanks Paul. But can you be more specific? You probably have the 180 APO as well so how do they compare? The apo 2x is $1500 and I can get a pre APO 180 for half as much so I would like to know if the combo is at least as good as the pre APO 180. Thanks. paul_huang6
Hi Ray, If you trying to compare the 90 + 2x APO with the 180F2.8 APO then I am quite sure the 180F2.8 APO is better in handling and of course dont forget the the one stop difference so focusing is easier etc. Also the 180 F2.8 is using internal focusing. The 180F2.8 and the 180F2 are two of the best lenses in the Leica R range. Let me see if I can take some pix with the lenses mounted on a Canon DSLR and sent them to you.
