richie chishty
Leica USA should be able to recover your IIIG with a M6 type leatherette. I know the vulcanite used in the IIIG and later cameras is no longer made.
chris_chen
I read somewhere that Micro Tools makes vulcanite "...as close to the orig. Leica as we've found." It comes in sheets, though; too many variations in pre-cut, I guess. <p> Please, someone make it clickable.

al_kaplan1
Try www.cameraleather.com for do-it-yourself coverings for a variety of cameras in everything up to exotic lizard and snakeskin. Reasonable prices.
robert_byrd1
Hi, Herb. You could call Ken Hansen in New York. They have some of their used Leicas re-covered, and the results are excellent. By the way, I still get good shots with my Whiffen! Robert
