erickpro
The lens was set at f4 I believe. You can see so much detail even in this small image.<div></div>

vivek iyer
I see better D-range than the D70. Yes, around f/2.8-4, this lens is superb.
john y.k. lee
If you didn't have the flashes, could you still achieve a photo like that? I'm just trying to learn how to take better portraits. This one is excellent!
erickpro
Vivek, I added a little more contrast in Nikon Capture.
erickpro
Yes, a photographer can take very nice photos with available light, it just depends on composition and other factors but to achieve different looks, I guess other than the usual, you will need to play with strobes. vivek iyer
Capture.. hmm.. I changed PCs, lost the registry number of my 140 Euro NC 4.x and now I can't use the damn thing. :(
lee hamiel
Nice shot Calderon I recently got the same lens & am looking forward to using it a bit. Also been considering the D200 as well - thanks for the "push":)
erickpro
Very sad, but... I guess you don't need it as you have ADobe's (ACR) or Phase One CApture?
kfuse
What modifier did you use for your Hensel? Lightbox? or Unbrella? It seems your fathers face is getting fairly large soft reflection, so I also wonder how close the light souce was.
yoni_perlmutter
I have absolutely no idea about what kind of a flash gizmo you used but the shot is very good and evocative. Does anyone ask what oven was used when the cake is being eaten and enjoyed? Which shelf it was on? Whether it was a floor-standing or a built-in model, gas or electric . . . Once we acquire decent equipment and go a bit beyond rudimetary know-how, and learn how to understand feedback (particularly in lighting conditions) we are capable of taking good or even (sometimes) excellent pics. Really, a very nice image.
akira
Hi, Vivek, If you are original purchaser of NC, you should be able to find the product key on the sticker in the plastic CD-ROM case. Have you lost it, too?
vivek iyer
Thanks folks (Calderon and Akira). Yes, the 4.3 version's key was completely lost (don't have a clue how). Thanks to a friend (who shall remain nameless here) it is being taken care of now.
erickpro
I did not use any softbox, umbrella nor reflector. It was the Hensel's bare bulb about 6' from my subject. ALL, thanks for your comments :)
