Buying nikon in Singapore

Near the City Hall MRT, there are two recommended places. In the Pennisular Plaza, there's a branch of Cathy Photo (which, as mentioned, is a reputable dealer, although you won't get bargain prices). They stock a lot of Nikon equipment.

In the nearby Funan Centre, there's a shop called John 3:16 -- which, from the name, is run by Christians, and this shop has a good reputation too).

There are a few camera shops in the lower floors of Sim Lim Square (walking distance from Bugis MRT train station).

You can also try the tourist traps along Orchard Road, such as Lucky Plaza (near Orchard MRT).

Just get to the MRT stations I've mentioned, and anyone you ask will point you in the right direction.

Remember to get the official GST refund voucher from the vendor, which is needed to reclaim sales tax at the airport.

p/s Funan Center and Sim Lim square are THE places to buy IT gear in Singapore.

For Cathay ask for their cheapest quote by e-mail before you go and bring it with you if you decide to shop there. The e-mail quote is always cheaper than if you walk in and bargain. I found John xxxxx to be the cheapest and friendliest but you have to bargain. Deal with the son and the youngest people at John xxxx They are more willing to lower the price a bit.
