bret_williams
I am a little confused about how the aperture and shutter speed are to be set using a D-Flash with 503CW and CF lens. After I connect the sync cord and pc cord to the lens, what is the next step. I have read the D-Flash manual and Wildi's Manual and am not sure whether I must still manually set shutter speed AND aperture.
brian_walton
This is the delight with the D-40. Set the film speed on the outside of the camera (LH knob) and whatever speed and aperture you desire on the CF lens. The TTL system will work out the flash duration. Great for semi fill in or outdoor flash fill. Fine flash for the 503. Brian
bret_williams
Splendid. (Sounds almost too good to be true.) Thanks so much!
picturesque
In a way, it is too good to be true. You will come to this conclusion when you want to compensate your flash based on lighting situation or subject lightness/darkness. To do this, you manipulate the ISO dial. A stop is equivalent to a whole step in ISO, for example from 400 to 800 ISO is one stop.
bret_williams
Thanks. I reread my manuals after reading these posts. I can't wait to use the flash so much that I start to worry about compensation. :)
