david_seng
Hi I am going to be taking photos for a hair salon and need to get some studio lighting. The photos will be mostly head shots and I have a budget of around $2,000. I was looking at this kit on adorama Bowens Gemini 1500ws Monolight Kit with 3-500ws Heads, 3 Light Stands, 2 Reflectors, 2 Umbrellas, 1 Softbox 100, Deluxe Carrying Case, 1 Stand Bag, & Modeling Lamps Please let me know of any better sugestions. Thank You David
kentphoto
If you're testing lighting systems, why not rent ? You'll save money, and once paid by the hair salon, you'll be able to afford more.
whitworth photography
I think renting is a really good idea if that option is available. Personally I'm using Alien Bees which I have found to be good for my needs. I bought this package: http://www.alienbees.com/busy.html These have worked really well for me for over two years now. david_seng
Renting is not really an option because of the lack of places that rent any decent equipment. Thank you Kirk for the link to the Busy Bees.
