andrew robertson
If you type this into Google: site:photo.net sigma 17-35 2.8-4 You see that this lens has been discussed or mentioned exactly 192 times already on photo.net alone. Please use the search function like you are asked and save everybody the trouble of answering this question again.
wolver
........approx 49 times with that search. The rest were Nikkor, Tamron and Minolta.
waynelittle
I have searched in this way previously, I always do. What you will find though is that the results you get are for the 17-35 2.8-4 EX. I am asking about the newer 'DG' version with the 72mm filter thread. Please don't bother wasting your time answering this thread if you do not have anything to add regarding this lens. best regards wayne.
yakim_peled1
The images I've seen were not particularly exhilarating. Those from the compatible Tamron were. HTH. Happy shooting, Yakim.
mark u
AFAIK this lens retains the same optics of the non DG version (a few DG lenses actually have new optical designs). The only enhancement therefore is the additional coatings. Whether this is sufficient to help much with the veiling flare that the old lens was prone to in brighter lit conditions I can't say.
