ola_solvang1
I have owned a iic enlarger for the last ten years, but is unable to obtain satisfying results with my prints. The sharpnes from the varioelmar 100mm lens does not reflect the crispness of my Maniya 7 negatives. (center might be sharp, but corners are really poor)Is it possible to fit the iic with moderne lenses of another brand? I have heard that the focotar ii lenses are really hard to find on the market? jo_l_cahane
Forgive me if you have done it already, but did you try to sharp focus the grain not in the center but at 2/3 of your neg, at diaphragm 8 ? I have the same elmar lens and it gives for me very good results The focotar II wich i own too is indeed rare, i have been told 200 only where built
jim_bennet
You could always head for the dork bar and hash it out with metalman.

harry__florida_
Yes, you can use other lenses in range 90-110mm on your IIc for medium format but will lose autofocus capability. If you are relying on the autofocus mechanism now to do your printing, do you have proper easel thickness?
emerson_johnston1
I have had good results with the V elmar 105 (marginally better than my Mid 80's rodagon. The lens barrel dimensions make it impossible to directly mount most common enlarging lenses. There may be some lenses that are not too fat otherwise you will need to get a machinest to make an alternative barrel mount. Emerson
