Nagaoka 4x5 camera

No longer made, unfortunately. I think it cost me $225 (new)from Honolulu in the 1970s. I used it for two workshops at the ICP, and it's been in it's original box ever since, except when I take it out to fondle. I also have a 5x7 extension back for it, which raises the total weight all the way up to about 4 pounds!

Nagaoka Seisakusho is still very much in business, offering view cameras in formats from 6x9cm to 8x10" as well as a newer line of pinhole cameras. The camera designs have changed a bit from the 4x5 model most frequently seen used here in the US, but are still very lightweight for their respective formats.

 

However, they do not currently have an importer in the US.
