Maxxum 5 LCD Monitor

I have been using a Maxxum 5 and playing with a Sony DSC-P32 digital

camera for quite a while now. This year, Santa decided that I needed

a Maxxum 5D since I have been having way too much fun with the Sony.

In trying to learn the 5D, I noticed that I don't see the subject in

the LCD monitor like I did the Sony prior to taking the pic. I can

only review the pics that I already shot. Is that the case or have I

not found the instructions for setting up the monitor to preview the

subject yet?

I guess it's a dumb question, but thought I'd ask anyway to save

some time and frustration.

I welcome all the help I can get on this.

Thanks

Herb Morrison

THe view through the optical viewfinder is far superior to any EVF or LCD, which suffer from lag in the electronics (the viewfinder works at the speed of light, literally!). If you really want to see the image on an LCD, you can get a Zigview digital angle finder, although it's really only worth getting the Zigview R, which offers an intervalometer and motion sensor remote release as part of the package, because the LCD view really isn't that great (especially in sunshine). Minolta also make a good anglefinder.
