wbowman
I am spending the weekend in Chale, Isle of Wight and I am hoping tohave some guidance on interesting photography sites there. I see lotsof other posts of beautiful shots from there. Are there any "can'tmiss" suggested places?
watts
Difficult to pin down specific photography sights but the western part of the island (which includes Chale) is by far my own favourite part of the Isle of Wight. If you like landscapes and/or seascapes I guess the views from Freshwater and Tennyson Down can be hard to beat. If the weather is right (sunny and bright but with plenty of wind to whip the sea up a bit) I recommend getting up high near Freshwater golf course and looking back towards Compton Bay and the Military Road. There are few better bits of coastline anywhere in England.
martin.
If you have time it is worth visiting Dimbola Lodge in Freshwater Bay. This was home to Julia Margaret Cameron, and now has a museum, gallery and tearoom.
