stacy
Ok- I need some PS help please. I did the dumbest thing... We were supposed to do these photos outside with a back up plan for the hotel lobby if weather was bad...ahhh- but there were thousands of cheerleaders in the lobby that day- so...I picked this spot out of the way knowing I would be cloning out reflections in this glass, but it's not as easy as I thought. Anyone have any tips or tricks for getting rid of giant reflections? Or if any of you PS experts want to quote me a price to get rid of this in about 10 photos please email me with a price. Some of the photos have a head partially covering the reflection. Had I been clever I would have taken a photo with no reflection to work from- but of course i was not clever at all... Thanks!<div></div>
chris_s___hampton_roads_va
what might be the best thing to do is to mask off the area inside the frame, & replace it with a painting similar.
michaelkh
What Chris said, but: can you go back to the venue and beg to rephotograph the painting to slot it back in place? That will make your job, or the job of any PS experts, much easier.
gregscott
At first I thought: It's too bad you need to block out the painting and replace it with another image. The main redeeming detail of even having this painting for a background is that it echoes the subject in a humorous/whimsical way. Why can't you go back and shoot the same painting? Then, perhaps, inspiration: block out the painting and replace it with another photo from the same wedding! Just a crazy idea, but it may be interesting and workable. tommyinca
The picture looks like it is easy to clone. Clone it and blur it (with a mask) by some. Could look better if more time is spend on it.<div></div>

timcorridan
so where are the cheerleader shots? (he he.)
ilkka_nissila
So this is what it's come down to, any mistake and it's all going to be fixed by pasting stuff in PS? I'm not sure I like where the world is going ..
michaelkh
Failing that, do you have any idea whether it's a print or an original - perhaps the image can be found somewhere online.
eric friedemann
I don't see the framed print or the lamp adding to the photo. This is very quick and dirty, but I'd opt for white wall behind the women. Also, I really like that wedding dress. I just can't figure out quite why ...<div></div>
stacy
Thanks everyone for your opinions (and fancy PS work!). I'm going to drive back to the hotel and re-shoot the painting and then my lab is going to work on it for me- hopefully he can fix it. Ilkka- I normally try not to get myself into situations where I'm going to have to spend more time and money, but I did this time- not a brilliant move- I agree... Thanks again! ilkka_nissila
I'd be curious of what the couple think about the original version. :-)
stacy
Would they consider it unethical to clone the original painting over the reflection? Is that what you mean? I seriously doubt they would care at all as long as it gets fixed without costing them...and it will get fixed at my expense of course.
twmeyer
I have to admit, Stacy, I laughed out loud when I saw what you meant by "stupid, stupid, stupid". Been there... etc etc. <p>Is there any significance to the image behind them? It looks like another group of women from an earlier event. Why don't you put a photo from this same wedding behind them, like one of the groomsmen with the groom?... t
ilkka_nissila
I didn't mean to imply anything about ethics. I just think the shot is funny, with the umbrella in the picture.
matthewkane
Wow yeah that's quite a pickle. I think the cloning in of the painting is the best idea to. The white wall makes it look bland. The blue sky makes it look way to fake. Better luck next time!
bruce_rubenstein
Ilka - the great truth about most photography is that only the result counts, not how you get it.
stacy
I think I might have it looking ok- what do you think? And good eye Tom- this bride was a bridesmaid in a November wedding (and that bride is a bridesmaid now...).<div></div>

hector_montalvo
I've made a few mistakes myself... Luckly I know PS. If you reshoot the painting, I like to help e-mail me if you still need some help. hknb@mac.com
grant g
I'd go with the 'try again' cloning but try to get a little more of the reflection out. And I must admit that is a REALLY nice dress...

ilkka_nissila
Bruce, says who? What is ok and what is not ok is just up to the viewer and photographer, isn't it?
larry schaefer - chicago,
To be more concise. I like the dress and I DO know why.
