keirst
Pretty Cool, but on 4x5" and 8X10" setting the view cameras still looks like a Leica! In the field I use the rear-focus spread measurement method for LF landscape stuff. This method was outlined in Photo Techniques a few years ago and is a fast and effective method of finding the optimum aperture for a scenic shot. bert_otten
Thanks Steven for you reply. Please press the "Settings": button lower left corner for professional use: you will get the image of an 4x5, 5x7 or 8x10 camera.
bert_otten
Steven, thanks, I am aware of the method. In fact my Gandolfi GV810 has a scale next to the focussing system intended for this method. The calculator is intended to give an overview of what is possible with several film formats, focal lengths, distances and object sizes.
lee hamiel
Very Impressive - thanks A side note - the toggle for the camera types is at the top left Great work
leonard_evens
Maybe I missed it, but you don't seem to say which formulas you used.
bert_otten
Thanks Leonard. A link to a pdf file with the formulae used is available at the bottom of the page. Some figures clarify the use of variables.

mike_maas
Hi Bert, I don't seem to be able to run this from either of my pc's. Has it gone belly up? thanks, Mike
bert_otten
Mike, here it is running on Mac (OS 10.4), with Safari and Firefox and on Windows XP with Explorer and Firefox. Would not know why you can't run it. Do you have Java installed?
