andrew_buckley1
Just bought myself a second-hand RB67 Pro-S and was wanting to know what sort of remote cable I would need for shutter release and mirror lock-up. Is there a universal cable release that will fit this or will I need a bespoke Mamiya product. I'm a UK resident, so if anyone has ideas of stockists and approx prices, preferably second- hand, I would appreciate it. Many thanks in advance Andrew
gary_meader
Andrew- It's a standard sized screw socket. And one release should fit both. At least that's how mine works.
daniel_gregory
I have an RZ67 and I used the mamiya one until it broke about 2 months after I got it. Now I just have two short cable releases that I picked up for a few dollars and just put the mirror up on the body first and then fire the lens (on the RZ the lens wont depress until the Mirror is up). It will be cheaper than the two cable mamiya
anders_br_the
Andrew, I have the same camera (RB67 PRO-S) as you and use a standard Nikon cable release with mine.
wes_baker1
It's worth finding the double-cabled type if you can, because it simplifies the process when you're doing multiple shots with the mirror locked up. One push on the button locks the mirror, while the second trips the shutter. Oddly, I never had the actual Mamiya part. I found a used Pentax dual cable device in a used photo gear shop in Tokyo. One cable was a bit shorter than the other, which made the whole thing a bit tidier than two seperate releases. I sold it on e-bay a while back, having gotten rid of my RB, but I wouldn't be surprised if they turn up from time to time. Wes
