anthonypierce
I am so damn excited about this picture! I guess my question would be: Do you prefer it in black and white, or color? Thank you! mats_hellman
B&W. It leaves your fantasy more room
eye-of-searle
Very cool. I am not sure which is better. Normally, I like B&W better in general but I think I like the color one here. Either way, the image great. I can see why you are excited!

arnabdas
Both are nice, the color version may cause slight visual chaos/confusion to some.
cjfraser
Great work. I vote for B&W.
tri-x1
Black and white--no question. Nice shot. In my opinion the color is a distraction.

vivek iyer
Color. B/W could be considered with a shot that has no blooming highlights.
jmichaelc
Black & White Anthony, the color only adds as a distraction. Absolutly an awsome shot.
lex_jenkins
I'm a diehard b&w guy where artistic photography is concerned but in this case the color version works better. The color helps to emphasize the depth of the complex image. In b&w it simply looks cluttered and confusing.
ben conover
Colour definitely, B+W looks better on film. Cheers.
2yellowdogs
B&W, no question.
ecarter
I prefer the color version - the b/w does not stand out as much to my eye, but in color this looks very surreal.

anthonypierce
Everyone, Thank you for all of your opinions! I am fairly new to photo.net, and I have to say that everyone on here is really wonderful and has great imput to give! I would really love to chime in more as far as technical aspects of photography go, but I really don't have the slightest idea about most phrases and definitions you all talk about! Branding, etc... No idea what all that is! Thanks again, Anthony

lex_jenkins
Y'know, my first reaction to this thread was to delete it because I forgot that the Nikon Forum does indeed accomodate critique requests. (We don't on the b&w forums so I reflexively deleted Anthony's first thread.) After I realized my mistake I asked Anthony to post this thread again. I'm glad he did. This thread is a classic example of how varied impressions can be when we are presented with aesthetic choices. Thanks to all for participating here. And best wishes to Anthony. Keep making great images and don't worry about the photo-jargon. ;>
