leya216
The 8750 comes with profiles for the Premium plus papers that are good. I tried building my own profile for my Galerie paper (with Spyder) but the color, contrast etc. are coming out pretty aweful. When I print I choose "let photoshop determine colors", then the profiles, then I hit print, then I choose in quality "other photo paper", "max dpi", and heaviest ink. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Also I find that Im not getting as much details as I get from the Epson R2400- not from the HP paper and even less from the Galerie Thanks, Leah
beauh44
Hi Leah, My best guess is that something went wrong with the Spyder-made profiles. If it works OK with HP's papers and profiles, then the printer's OK. It sounds like your Photoshop settings are right. I'm not familiar with Spyder's profile-making method but if it involves a flat-bed scanner they're usually less reliable and hard to get right. You can always shell out 40 bucks at http://www.kathysprofiles.com She has the high-dollar equipment and expertise to make you a nice profile if you can't get the Spyder thing to work. constance_cook
Use the HP dropdown for various papers. It sounds really wrong but click on "film". Works beautifully every time. Conni
Michael Eckstein
IIlford Profiles for your printer can be downloaded here: http://www.ilford.com/html/us_english/prod_html/galerie/IJPROFILES/default.asp? RIP=PC&Printer=HP+Photosmart+8750&Printer2= I have been using profiles I downloaded from their site for over a year now for my Canon printer and have been very happy with the results. I hope this helps you.
leya216
How do I install the profile after downloading it? As as I get home will try the "film" setting... got 3 photos to print and not much more (well other than more paper) to lose... Thanks for the response everybody!
