human_being
I am thinking i buying a good film scanner and use it for postproduce my negatives. Anyone can share his/her experience? Thanks
peter_hovmand
Well, I can definitely recommend you to buy a good film scanner. With a newer Nikon scanner you get the best results possible. They are especially needed if you use positives. You still feel the magic, and postproduction in Photoshop gives you all the power! But make sure to do it all the right way. All my pictures so far are Kodachromes scanned on a Nikon IV. But some of them are overexposed in postproduction! Has to be postedited. howard_roarke
I shoot film and work from scanned images all the time. Works great. But Wow ... I can scarcely believe this post was written by the same person as this one ... http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00EPQg
neil_gowlland
Excellent gallery, Peter. I love them all, or nearly all.
howard_roarke
By the way, I am an old darkroom hand, and I can tell you I absolutely love working in Photoshop. You can do in PS just about everything you can do in a darkroom, and more. Provided you are not a purist, you can get a lot of digital post-processing. human_being
Thanks Peter, very nice pictures, great quality. By the way, do you know the work of Ansel Adams? He works also with nature. Yes Howard I am buying a 90mm lens as soon as possible, and a film scanner in a few months. I supose I will need some years to come out with some good work. But that's another business. Thanks sincerely. Any work you can show on b/w film developed and digital postproduced?

over exposure
Every photo I do is developed on my own and inserted in a Coolscan V..I have some shot in the PN gallery, more on my site...I think is a wonderful approach, you get the taste of both worlds, the advantages of Photoshop tricks, and the feeling of BW film. I just plan to keep shooting this way..and the quality is really HIGH.
