john_meyer5
Im trying to find out the best settings in the Silverfast CMS palette when scanning a Monico IT8 trani., target..Im using a PC ,Elements 3 , Epson 4870, Epson printers. I have the Silverfast manual but cant find any info. I have one time run through the Monico software ,calibrating my monitor, scanner, and adding paper profiles and everything turned out good ,but i wonder if i was using the right settings at the time i scanned the target... Could i get better results if i had the settings different... I didnt go through the setting of the black and white points... Thanks john
William Kahn
If you're using the IT8 calibration function in AI6 you don't need to adjust CMS. In fact, you might defeat the purpose of calibration if you do. Just follow the manual instruction for IT8 calibration. You may want to check the Silverfast website for updates to the procedure.... digidurst
But what if you're NOT using the IT8 stuff? Those CMS settings have me confused as well. Anybody able to help?

stwrtertbsratbs5
The Tally book is very good, but it is a little dated. The CMS options have changed - the tutorial is better for this. But get the Tally book anyway - lots of good info. FYI, I bought the book used for $10 from an abebooks.com seller. Robert
