agaimages
Where to shoot an engagement in the NYC area? Central Park of course? Have you found any locations within that are extreemly nice? Where besides CP? Anybody maybe have any examples, other "winter" engagement/wedding portraits will be nice as well. Thanks!
michaelmowery
Try the South Street Sea Port which is at the South East side of Manhatten. There are alot of nice places by the water and on the docks. Try also Battery Park which is on the West side at the very South end of Manhatten. Follow the side walk up on the Hudson river and you will find alot of areas there. You also have the SoHo area where there are some cobble stone streets which is romantic. You then can go on Brooklyn side underneath the brooklyn Bridge which is great for a Manhatten backdrop. These are just a few off the top of my head. HuskyMason1
If you are going to go to central park why not use the Metropolitan Museum...go at a time less busy (weekday morn)...great Egyptian and Medieval displays for unique backgrounds...no flash allowed but tripods with permission. agaimages
Museum is a great idea, but it will be on satruday, plus the Met is pretty dark even with a tripod shooting people might be challenging. MOMA allows flash, however, it is very packed on weekends, any other ideas as far as indoor shoots?
fotografz
Aga, use the crowds. Try setting up a bit longer exposure (tripod), and have the couple hold still as the crowds blur along behind them. A nice "Lovers" location is the clock in Grand Central. Sort of a iconic NYC meeting place. While there, go down to the Oyster Bar, the entrance is spectacular "Old New York". Depending on weather and time of day, the older subway entrances by the park are pretty neat, especially if you can get a bit of the city in the background. Maybe use fill flash, so they pop off the backlit scene ?<div></div>
kim long- cincinnati, ohio
If you're willing to go down to Brooklyn, the Botanical Gardens and Prospect Park are gorgeous.
tricia_bagguley
Does anyone have suggestions for indoor wedding photos spots in NYC in a pinch if the weather fails.
