david_werbeloff1
Hi All: I'm noticing that the framelines for 90mm on my M2 are somewhatreluctant to appear either on frame preview or using the LTM/bayonetadaptor for 90mm lenses. The righthand vertical line appears some ofthe time but never completely. Am I seeing a visit to Sherry in thecamera's future? It's true that the last time it had a CLA was in1989 so it wouldn't hurt, but I'm curious to know what's going on. Best, David
Rob F.
This can happen. My M2 came back from a CLA with disappearing 50mm framelines. It's an alignment issue, and it is correctable. It had to go back to be corrected. Does it make any difference where you center your eye?
john_boyle3
I had that problem with my M4. Things get a bit stiff after a while. A CLA will fix the problem and frequent use of the camera should prevent a recurrence.
jim_a
There are two springs, one compression and the other expansion, right near the frame selector lever. I had an expansion spring break once in my M2. Consequently it got stuck between the shell and the roller for the second blind. As the roller turned the spring pressed against it causing a 'lump' in the winding halfway through. Before that finally happened I could not get the 50mm framelines to come up all the way. mukul_dube
The 135 frame line on my M3 would come up when I mounted the lens but would soon become almost invisible. With no lens mounted, the frame selector would bring it up, but not with the lens on. The only answer was to remove the lens and mount it again. Didn't bother me, since I hardly ever used that lens: maybe two dozen frames in 17 years. It's generally little more than a matter of alignment, as others have said.
