db1
I just bought a Yashica D with a Yashinon 3.5 lens. Any idea how old it is?

minhnguyen9113
Hi David I have couple Yashicas D. They've been made in the 60's so you should expect they are 40 years old. One thing important is they still serve us excellent. I did have pictures from my Yashica D developped to 16x20 and look so good. If yours comes with a Yashinon lens it is a later model, the older model comes with a Yashikor lens. Anyway they will do a good job for you. Just go out take pictures and share your good job with us. dean_williams
The Yashica D model had a long production run. 1957 to 1973. So, your camera is between 32 and 48 years old. Dating it may be a problem. I know of no serial number reference for these cameras. All after 1969 (if memory serves) were equipped with Yashinon lenses. Before that the Yashikor was standard, but Yashinons were an option.
