abbilder
Hello! I am looking for a batch converter to convert my processed TIFF-filesinto JPGs. I have PSE 3 but this is very slowly. On the other hand I have IrfanView but this software does not haveColour-Management - or I did not found out how to activate ColourManagement. Do you know a batch converter which could do the job in accurate timeand is not too expensive (freeware welcome!) Thank you for your helpAxel

bobatkins
Why would you need color management for file conversion?
abbilder
Hello Bob! To be honest, I do not know realy, but I think better it is. One reason might be that PSE ask me how to handle Colourmanagement with this files if I open already batched photos with PSE. And, more substantial, I had some cases were I converted files and continued to work on them. But may be yes, I might work without. Thank you,Axel
steven_clark
Last I checked Elements lacks the ability to assign a profile so if the conversion strips your profile you're kinda out of luck when you open the converted file.
trw
ImageMagick, eg to convert profiled tiffs to sRGB 1024x768 (for display on a projector)<br /><br /> convert infile.tif -resize 1024x768 -profile (path to icc sRGB profile) -format jpeg -quality 100% outfile.jpg<br /><br /> If you want to do a lot of files and/or a lot of formats (11x14, 8x10, 5x7, ready to print, web thumbnails, etc), and you know PERL you can use PerlMagick to make it run faster. mendel_leisk
Like Les, I prefer ACDSee. I need a viewer anyway, and it does all sorts of conversions and resizing. Simple, quick, none of the Photoshop hassles. Does color managing your jpegs matter?
