l.dwight_horricks
Hi again guys, well I've had zero success in being able to remove the rotating back from my Supertechnika III...the four (slotted) tabs that I'm told should simply slide out...just wont budge. Any suggestions...there is a screw inset into each tab...what happens if I loosen these, dont want the thing to fall apart on me. Also I am thinking I would like to buy a new lever action 6x9 Rollex back...any reason why it would not function properly with the older tech III, I know JOhn was saying that the GG backs are not always compatable. john_cooper9
I have been dismantling a Technika 111 from 1955; I thought I would have the body powder coated white! Were you able to rotate the back 45 degrees (i.e. diagonal) to expose the slides? If yes, then soak the slides in "liquid wrench" for a while and try sliding them out - they only need to move about 1/8 th of an inch or so. If that doesn't help then remove the whole back by moving the front standard off its track, remove the screws at the end of the rods (inside the body) and loosen the 4 corner knobs to withdraw the whole assembly from the back, do be careful of the bellows. The slides and back plate are dissimilar metals that should self lubricate; perhaps someone had "greased" them in the past - liquid wrench should free up the gunk and/or corrosion. Regards and good luck John
