katie h.
I was hoping to use my sb28 as an off camera flash (set off by a pocketwizard), but I seem to be having trouble keeping the flash from going into standby mode- and therefore not firing. I read the instructions for turning off the standby mode (turn flash off, press on/off button and mode button until "stby" does not appear in bottom right), but even with no "stby" indicator at the bottom the flash switches into standby after about 30 seconds. Does anyone know how to avoid this? Katie
mark_jordan3
Katie--With the flash powered off, press and hold down the MODE button as you press the ON/OFF button. Follow the exact same procedure to reactivate standby mode. MJ
mark_jordan3
Sorry...missed that you understand how to turn activate/reactivate! I've not had that issue with my SB-28. Standby mode is the factory preset, sounds like something has gone awry and it's simply not holding the command. Have you attempted it with a fresh set of batteries? Jerry_
...if you pull out the 'white card' __ it shows how to turn stand-by off or on.
