Hasselblad flash bracket?

I have just purchased a new Hasselblad flashgun bracket (cat.no

45071) for my 501cm. Once the tripod mount slides into the

bracket's camera attachment, you would normally turn the knob so the

3/8" screw would attach the two. My problem is that they don't line

up. Has anyone else had this problem? The bracket says that it

works on the 500c/m, which leads people think it fits the 500

series. I would appreciate your help in identifing the right

Hasselblad flash bracket.

Thank you,

Terry

Just checked on the model number you give. It is the same or similar to the one I have. I bet if you reverse the screw, it will fall in the right position to fit into the 1/4 20 screw hole. You pull down the knob to expose a small screw head in the shaft of the knob. You unscrew that, which frees the threaded post, which reverses to 3/8 or 1/4 20. Then put everything back together again and tighten.

Nadine,

I checked my bracket for that screw, it is a pin instead. Also, when I look through the hole in the knob, I can see where the other end is 1/4 threaded. But, I wonder how the 3/8 threads will fit when I reverse the screw. I am assuming that I have to drive the pin out first. It is hollow and looks like it could get damaged easily. Thanks, Terry
