ggoodroe Posted December 20, 2005 Share Posted December 20, 2005 Hi All, I recently purchased a Sigma 300mm 2.8 HSM APO lens and unfortunately, the lens did not come with instructions on how to use the rotating ring in front of the filter holder...I read something about the ring possibly allowing rotation of filters like polarizers...however it doesn't rotate the filter housing...only the ring itself rotates... k._patrick Posted December 26, 2005 Share Posted December 26, 2005 I am deliberating whether to purchase the same lens (for Canon). Can you tell me if you've been happy with the build quality, sharpness and focusing speed? I've used my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 head to head against the Canon 2.8 IS and wound up keeping my Sigma. For the Sigma 300 I'll be using it to shoot hockey and some indoor concerts where equipment preservation keeps me at a safe distance from the performers. I'd appreciate your comments on the lens.
