peter_kuehl
I'm having trouble scanning transparencies with my Epson 3200. They're coming out extremely dark. I'm not having this problem with negatives or documents. I'm previewing normal, not thumbnail. Is there some simple setting I'm missing? Wouldn't surprise me. stu dall
Hi Peter, I'm presuming that you are using 'Professional Mode'. The only thing I can think of, is that you haven't checked the positive film box, as opposed to negative. Stu.
peter_kuehl
Hi, Stuart. Yeah...using Professional mode and definitely using the transparency setting. It's a bit maddening really.
stu dall
Ok then Peter, the only other thing I can think of, is that you have checked the colour correction box. How dark is "dark"?. I did this by mistake a while ago, and it darkened the scans some, but not to any huge degree. Stu.
Keith Gierman
Peter, I had the same problem with an Epson 4180 and the only was I solved it was by switching to SilverFast SE Plus. I was getting a compressed, dark image that opened up with SiverFast. You can download a copy that puts a trademark in the image to see if it helps.
