jairy hunter
Does anyone get bridal portraits printed on canvas? Is it a common request? Can someone fill me in on the details, i.e. which lab, mounting, cost, and is there a noticeable difference on canvas at say 16 x20 between medium format and digital (Canon 20D)? houstonphotographics
Hi Jairy, I do a lot of these for my clients down here in DFW. Several labs offer this service. I use Pechman Imaging in WI. I prep/ftp the files to the lab then email instructions. They do the rest. Overall cost for a 16x20 print mounted to stretcher canvas is about $65-$70.00 w/shipping. My people are happy with the results. Digitally shot
picturesque
Sometimes, and not so much anymore. Any pro lab will offer it, do a search. The texture tends to hide grain and softness, but other than that there is no difference between canvas enlargements from either format other than what is already there. chris m., central florida
For a high end look, try a gallery wrap canvas from MuseumBond in Tampa, FL. Absolutely phenomenal.
mike_smith41
West Michigan Photo Works, Holland MI both gallery and standard wraps. Around $65-75. In the midwest we get quite a few requests for canvas prints, even some HUGE ones. At 16x20 to canvas you won't see much if any difference in quality since the canvas is quite forgiving. At larger sizes the differences will be more noticeable.
