michael_schmid
hello, recently i posted a question wheter 135mm lenses will work with the polaroid 110b's rangefinder. for a test i borrowed a 135mm apo symmar and it seemed to work ok. the only thing anoying is that the camera won't close with the rather big front element. so does anyone know which modern lenses in the range from 125 - 135mm are small enough to fit these cameras like the original lens does? i measured that the front element is only allowed to reach about 1cm over the shutter. maybe the old single coated symmars will fit? thank ou, michael
vivek iyer
I doubt if any Symmars will fit. You may have better luck with Xenars or Xenotars and the like (lenses with fewer elements).
diwan_bhathal
I am sorry to inform you that to solve that problem of the protruding lens you need to apply synergistic quadrangulation methods with formula solving to the four angle geometry of your camera. Regrettably all present numerical methods that we have are not up to the task. If I may say, this camera becomes a pain to use if you have to screw and unscrew the front element. Do not forget to add the inconvenience of having to carry two pieces of the camera, the body and the front cell of lens. From a different point of view, you can carry the front element in a leather pouch around your neck in guise of an amulet, so that you will have the good fortune of not dropping it while screwing it on. Does this make it a portable and fast shooting camera then ? Hmmmm. Maybe if you remove the rear "red button", that will give you extra space ? (Sorry, couldn't help it.) eric rose
The Rodenstock Gernonar's are very compact lenses. And cheap too.
sam_crater
Try a 135mm Sironar N or Apo Sironar N, they're very small.
ole_tjugen
Old (convertible) Symmars should fit, so should an old (non-Super) 120mm Angulon.
