dennis osipiak
A few weeks ago the Northeast had some exceptional torrents of rain. I was fortunate to squeeze in 30 minutes of shooting with no rain in a beautiful setting with willow trees, gazeebos etc. In 95% of the shots I made sure to leave this muddy water out of the photo, but for a couple of shots I let it show with the thought I might be able to work with it in photoshop. Any step by step suggestions and/or sample reworks with steps would be appreciated. I know I could select the water and or mask it..replace it with water from a different image..but any other suggestions are welcome. ky4tki
You can use Magic Wand tool with a tollerance 18-22 to select all of the water, and then play with Image>Adjust>Color Balance to get the color you want. See my example, good luck.
ky4tki
In addition, while the water is selected try to adjust brightnes and contrast to your liking:
minicucci
Dennis: I'd start with a mask for the water and use a selective color adjustment layer to adjust the hues. In this case, your reds and yellows need to go to cyan and blue/green. I'd also add a curve to bump contrast and a H/S layer to fine tune. Very nice composition, BTW.<div></div>
edhebert
One other option you might consider...extracting the couple to a new layer (filter/extract), and then cloning out the water altogether in the layer behind the extraction.<div></div>
bill_tuthill
Patricia, nice Photoshop work, I like your version best. Did you use Quick Mask or Layer Mask or some other kind of mask? Do you find it more accurate (for this purpose) than the magic wand? I have not used masks and am hoping to learn.
