davis1862
I purchased a used Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 DL Macro to use on my Canon EOS Rebel (film not digital). The seller said she tested it on her camera and it worked great but she was selling it as is. She didn't indicate what kind of camera she tested it on. This lens seems to align properly when I first put the lens on the body, but when I try to turn it into position it is really hard to turn and doesn't "snap" into place. I've turned the lens as far as I can without actually forcing it on but the camera doesn't seem to recognize the lens. I've compared the lens mount to my other EF mount lenses and it seems to be identical in all respects. The Sigma box says its for Canon AF and in another place it says Canon EOS. Is something wrong with the lens or is there a compatability issue that I'm not aware of? Hoping I didn't get ripped off...Thanks in advance. marymac
Ken - do you have a local camera store or a friend with a Canon EOS? You could try this lens on a different camera to see if it fits...

bsd230
It should work with any canon eos body. The canon AF just means canon auto focus.
jasona1
I would check to make sure one of the mount screws hasn't come loose.
