kim yee
What is the model number for the lens hood used for the VC 15mm/f4 from Voigtlander?
vivek iyer
Mine (as does every other sample) comes with a built-in lens hood.
frederick_muller
Vivek, this was a troll.
billc1
The hood is part of the lens and it does not come off. They do not make a square shade for it too.
jim_bennet
Eee Yee, hehehe.
huw_finney
I find sticking my body twixt the lens and the sun makes a very good shade.
james mitchell dc
Al Kaplan's M2R with 21mm Super Angulon f/3.4 and finder makes a good shade for the CV 15mm f/4.5 when held at the correct angle against the sun as well. In fact, he once used my Bessa L and CV 15mm to take a pic of himself taking a pic of himself with his won Bessa L and CV 15mm. We should co-post those two pics some day soon. His is probably on Tri-X or HP5, and mine is on Kodak 400 color.
james mitchell dc
That should read: "with his OWN."
al_kaplan1
James, I'm trying to teach Monkey to hold a little black umbrella to shade the 15 from the direct rays of the sun. Actually the lens flares very little. It's one of the most flare free lenses I've ever used.
vivek iyer
Frederick, Hmm.. i really fell for it. Yee Kim, You have posted some nice pictures through your Bessa Rx and some CV lenses. That is nice and is very much appreciated. If you are curious about the 15/4.5, I suggest that you get one yourself and try it. It is a fabulous lens. kim yee
I have just ordered the lens and I was wondering whether I need to get additional lens hood for it. That's why I am asking it here.
kim yee
And Federick, what is your problem?
al_kaplan1
No, it works great without any hood. Just be careful not to lose the cap. Mine kept falling off. I just leave it at home.
frederick_muller
Yee, a little research before posting would answer the question. The Cameraquest website has a wealth of information on VC products, as do previous posts, and the VC website itself. All these would indicate the lens was not designed with a separate hood. frederick_muller
In any event, best of luck with your new lens. It is a stellar performer.

jerry_lehrer
Al-- I am getting FS&T of seeing the shots of your head looking like a hairy football by using that lens for self portraits.
