raulito
Hi, I was about to finish a roll of 400Tmax and camera waited 3-4 days for the last few shots to betaken. I believe I left the camera on these days. I pick it up today and oops! no reaction: film rewind crank blocked, pushing the shutter button does not result in anything... I suspected batteries (thou they are quite fresh, 2 rolls taken during 3 weeks after batteries were changed), changed them - NO reaction!! --- I took the film out.. changed the batteries: No reaction. shutter button works properly, not frozen, however film rewind crank is locked: it moves only halfway, as if it is already ready to shoot. I push the shutter button, but shutter does not move. p.s. Mirror is down. Would you guys recommend something?? 10X

moritz_nienburg
Zura, though english is not my native language, i still give it a try: check the quick wind lever and the rewind release button. For multiple exposures there is a "lock" which easily covers the rewind release button. Look if the "cover button" is at its right place, this might cause the frozen camera. Hope this helps. chansonbleu
Zura Did you try changing to manual mode? Does the meter read correctly when depressed half way down? It has been a few years since I have owned an R8 but I recall having something like this happen to me when I left it in Flash meter mode. Changing to manual mode straightened mine out. stuart_richardson
Now that the film is out, did you open up the back and check carefully to see if there is anything stuck in the shutter or in the film take up on the right? A chip of film might be able to jam the works...I have had that happen in other cameras. Other than that, I don't know what to say. The early R8's are reported to be buggy, is yours an early model? You might just have to send it out to have someone look at it if you can't figure it out otherwise...
