tommyinca
I just got a FD35-70 AF. Anyone know how to over-ride AF and manual focus with this lens. Thanks for helping.
awahlster
Reading the page in "Lens Work" that features this lens the only indication I see of it being able to manually focus is that in the spec's it lists a slightly different focusing range in manual as compared to AF. Have you just tried turning the knurled ring where the distance is marked? If there is such a thing with the on off switch in off. I have never seen an instruction manual for this lens listed anywhere (but then I might not have noticed one. Christians site the largest collection of Canon FD stuff on the net doesn't have one. his site is at: http://www.canonfd.com/choose.htm You can read up on the lens in his copy of "Lens Work"
lance_dennis
Turn of the focus signal slide switch just below the battery check button or remove the batteries. You can then focus by turning the ring in the front.
tommyinca
I tried both turning off the focus signal switch and removed the battery, the focus ring is still seem too tight to turn.
craig_depolo
Hi. You have probably long ago resolved this, but were obviously on the right track with the focusing ring. I have a manual for the Canon FD 35-70mm f/4 AF lens if you would like a scan of it. I am looking for some nice photographs of this lens with a Canon A-1 camera for a book I am working on. Take Care, Craig
