vpi
I just noticed that B&H offers the 1D Mk2 for $3899 and the new 1D Mk2n for $3999. I assume that the price for the Mk2 will fall once the new Mk2n ships, since all dealers will start to clear out existing Mk2 inventory. Given that, plus fall rebates, which I would expect to be at least $500 for the Mk2 again, where do you think the Mk2 will end up? $2999? Even lower? digitmstr
You seem to know everything...you tell us. But, I doubt it will ever hit 3k.
primoz
I'm pretty sure top of line Canon digital camera (whatever will be it's name) will be way under $3000. I'm actually pretty sure it will be around same price as 1v was when it came out. But I'm also pretty sure this won't happen till christmas :)<br> As for 1dmk2 goes... I don't think they will still sell it after 1dmk2n comes out and when 1dmk2 stock runs out. Same thing happend with 1d when 1dmk2 came out so I think there's no need to have both in production. ryanjoseph
I don't think we will see high end DSLR's in the 1000 USD price range new anytime this decade...
max_l
Ryan - pro DSLR under US$1G in this decade? Easy. Just wait and see.
jhall
I agree. The digital Rebel and D70 are close as it is.
yakim_peled1
About 6 months ago Canon had a 500$ rebate on the 1D Mk II. Now just imagine this on the triple-rebate program due at mid October.... Yummy. Happy shooting, Yakim.
digitmstr
>>Now just imagine this on the triple-rebate program due at mid October.... Yummy.<< they'll NEVER offer a $500.00 triple rebate...not even in your dreams :) They might offer a $100 triple rebate to sell remaining "older" stock though
hyon_hall
During the last rebate period, Dell had a 20% off coupon on the 1D mark II. With the $500 dollars rebate and 20% off coupon, it was below $3000. Maybe, they'll do it again.
