dan_weiss2
HI, I am very new to wedding photography. My first wedding is in a month and a half. At this stage in the game, what would be the benefit of joing WPPI?

steve_gibbs1
I think it's hard to decide which organizations are worth it to join and which are just "photographer's fraternities". People tend to use them as stygma type things to advertise on their studio window or yellow page ad. What we really need is a STANDARDIZED test for photogs to take and then advertise their scores that the general public recognizes. You can learn just as much by surfing sites like photo.net and the likes. In just my area, we have RMWP, RMPA, IWPA, NWWP and a few more...... sandra_henderson
Steve, I joined the PPNC in my local area as a learning tool but in a recent newsletter that was sent to me, it appears a standardized test is in the works.
