j_t17
I'm not sure if this was the correct title or not, but I didn't know what else to call it. My husband and I are just starting our own business, so we won't have a lot of clients purchasing pictures online, but I would like to give them the option while making a little bit of pocket change. I'm looking for a site (such as digilabs, photobiz) that will take customer orders, run the credit card payments, print the pictures, send them to the customer, and take a percentage of my profit (I set my own price, oh yeah, without the customer knowing what the print is costing me). I've seen a bunch of these sites, but they all charge a yearly fee. I won't have the traffic to really cover a yearly fee I don't think, that's why I'm wanting a company that gets their money by taking some of what I get. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried looking for other treads on this subject, but didn't exactly know what to look under so I'm sorry if this is a repeat post. Thank you to all in advance. mike_sheppard
You may want to check out collages They allow you to upload your event photos on a per event charge that is reaasonable.
colleendonovan
Actually photobiz.com charges by the month. It starts at $25 for 500 pictures and goes up from there. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. I use them and I've been really pleased so far.
wendyholden
I have my webpage through smug mug and I have been pleasently surprised by the positive feedback I get from clients. Ordering is handled by the lab as is billing and shipping. Great prints but I still do my larger images locally. My yearly fee is under $100 and it hasn't been hard to cover that. photolace
I've said it before-- I use insta proofsThere's no monthly fee, just 20% of your sales. One caveat: they don't print or forward for printing. Check out one of my current galleries at gphotography.instaproofs.com and you'll see that you upload your color version at full rez, they let clients zoom in (click broadband) to see details and quality, or just click the images to see it slightly larger than the thumb. The site automatically gens bw and sepia composites-- and allows the photographer to create additional packages and products. I really dig it-- not sure why the owner isn't doing any advertising yet, but he's been great to work-- prompt with payments and open to suggestions. Seriously! adam_ellis
I am the primary developer for Insta proofs. and I just wanted to make a small correction to Lacey G's comment above... We charge a 15% fee, not the 20% mentioned. Visit our site and create a free account with us if you are interested in giving us a try. Happy shooting.
