evangelos_koutsavdis
Hi: I have had this Canon Elan 7E for about three years right now and used it without any problems. I have just know noticed that for slow shutter speeds (like 1/20th and slower) the mirror is not returning. Mirror lock-up is de-activated. Things work great for faster shutter speeds. Any ideas would be appreciated! Evangelos
gareth_harper
Check your batteries and battery contacts. This sometimes happens when the battery is low, the battery indicator is not that great. Sadly I had this problem with my EOS33 (Elan7e I think), I took it to a Canon repair centre in Glasgow and they told me the shutter had gone, they replaced it and charged me 120 quid. Just over 6 months later it happened again, this time at all shutter speeds, I took it back but they claimed it was a different unrelated fault and wanted another 100 quid off me. Instead I bought a refurbished EOS30v of the UK Canon shop, 140 quid all in with 12mnths warranty. I've seen this problem posted a number of times.
