fredlee70x7
Hi, I just bought a 2.8F w/. Xenotar. The film counter does not engage although the counter moves when I turned the roller/shaft inside with my finger). The shutter fires only occasionally. Had anyone had a good experience on a CLA on this camera (SS#2400XXX). I also expect a cleaning on the cosmetics as there are some dust or small amount of rust traces. I prefer Canadian service centre, if a good one is available. Thanks
vincent_frazzetta
Click on "Community", then "Recommendations", then "Camera Repair", then scroll down a bit to "Harry Fleenor", and open the comments I made...I understand there are others who are less expensive, but... xenotar28
I highly recommend Krikor Maralian, owner of Krimar Photo Shop. I have known him for twenty one years as a friend and a customer. His is an authorized Rollei repair facility of classic models like yours and has a very quick turnaround. He will also give a six month guarantee on his work. I have a 2.8D with Xenotar that he CLA'd three years ago and it's still clicking away. Visit his website www.krimarphoto.com, which I built for him as an act of friendship. I have no, and have never had any fiduciary relationship with Krikor. I simply respect his technical skills and value his friendship.
wendell_kelly
I've used both Essex Camra Service and Camerwerks (Latham, NY) with good results. The official repair shop for older Rollei TLR's is Marflex - Krikor is their very knowledgeble technician for the TLR's.
xenotar28
Actually Marflex is no more as of 1/1/05. Krimar has taken over all the Classic Rolleiflex operations from them. Krikor is now in charge.
christopher_lovi1
I agree completely with George's comments. Krikor is a great guy and does fabulous work. I've had at least 6 Rollei's done as well as my other vintage lenses and cameras. I?ve never been dissatisfied with cost or service.
donald_brewster
Not Canada, but close. I can highly recommend Mr. Ebel for excellent service at an excellent price. Check the area code if you call, it seems they are always changing these days.
