nicholas_siebenmorgen
I just took a cruise to the Carribean and did a lot of shooting. Everytime though I left the ship I had to let my Canon 20d and lense defog from the extreme change from the cold AC to the warm humid climate. My question is, can this constant fogging and defogging cause problems or damage for the lenses or camera? thanks Nick
ryanjoseph
Well I live in the Carribean and that happens to my camera gear daily. Don't worry about it, just keep the lenses cap on while the lens adjusts to the new temprature outside.
bellavance
You could put it in a Ziploc bag and let it acclimate. This is what I do when coming in from the cold, in winter. Pierre
juergenf
Well, it never caused any problems to my gear so far but I guess it's best to avoid it by putting your gear in a plastic bag or something.
bsd230
I do know that it can cause damage, it can leave mineral deposits on the lens and the moisture can make things in your camera short out. Its best to let it climatize in something like a camera bag or a zip lock bag.
