jim mucklin
My F100 let me down (film counter stuck) at the wrong time. This is the first time a Nikon product failed and thankful the N80 was there. Can anyone give me any feedback as far as the Melville NY center. Do I have to call first? If I call can I speak to a human? Is there anything else I should know? Thanks
bryan_lardizabal
I have dealt with the Melville, NY and Torrance CA repair facilities and they were reachable by phone for a return authorization, so yes I would call if your F100 is under warranty or not. You will speak to a human as well.
ShunCheung
I have dealt with the Melville facility a few times. They are expensive (if out of warranty) and slow, but at least in my experience, they do a good job. Recently I had a lens repaired by Authorized Photo Service in the Chicago area. They are also on the expensive side but fixed my lens very quickly. They are authorized by Nikon USA to do repair work. Jerry_
Can you let 'us' know what type of AA cells were in your F100 body? ...and when was the last time you 'rubbed' gently the little gold contact nubs with a soft eraser?
charles_sullivan
The Nikon repair facility in Melville, NY, repaired my D70 recently. The work was excellent but the turn around time was just shy of three weeks. The camera was still under warranty so I cannot comment about the price.
